Shed Conversion

Shed Conversion

Menston

Project description

This was an unusual job, which gave me lots of challenges to think about.

I’ve never seen a shared shed before and the neighbours didn’t want to demolish their side so I came up with a way of converting my clients side into a lovely, covered seating and BBQ area.
It involved propping the roof up whilst we added post supports so we could then take the sides down. We added some stone partitions using stone the client already had to create that enclosed feel.
The roof condition was fine so that didn’t need replacing, but because we had extended out the extra area needed something. We decided that tiling would create too much shade so I came up with the idea of using clear Perspex sheets to provide shelter from rain, but also allow plenty of light through.
To complete the area we needed to match the paving for the area that used to be the inside of the shed.
