Super Mega Treehouse

My wonderful clients on this project gave me carte blanche to create a wonderful, magical treehouse for their children. We didn’t have anything down on paper and they trusted me to create what was in my head.

I wanted a series of platforms with shelters and different features for accessing each area like tubes, wobbly bridge and slide. I really wanted to create a two story house for the kids to imagine being their own house and to optimise the views.

I wanted to use different timbers for a more natural, rustic look, but also for the properties the have for their place ie. cedar shingles on the roofs because they are very durable, have good resistance to rot and insect infestation and can withstand harsh weather conditions.
Other timbers used on the job were Siberian larch cladding for its thermal properties and English chestnut for its high density and rot resistance.
